Her Last Breath

My dear child
My mama used to say
We are humans
One body, one mind
Just like the others

But like an ugly duckling
We differ from the swans
We are not like the others
We are different...you and I

My dear child
My mama used to say
You and I, we think alike
You and I, we are like sisters
Never brought apart

My dear child oh my dear angel
When I am away, do not fear
When I take a trip to a place where only memories lay
I shall await you there
And watch over you till your time has come

My dear darling oh my baby
Even when my ashes are at shore
Or when my soul wonders
You will always be my baby
And I love you with all my heart
Was what my mama said
Before she released her last gentle breath

If one day you feel like crying...
Call me.
I don't promise that I will make you laugh,
But I can cry with you

If one day you want to run away--
Don't be afraid to call me.
I don't promise to ask you to stop...
But I can run with you

If one day you don't want to listen
to anyone...
Call me.
I promise to be there for you.
And I promise to be very quiet.

But if one day you call...
And there is no answer...
Come fast to see me.
Perhaps I need you.

Hey, saw this poem somewhere.
Thought you may like it.
